Sexual Health
Problems and concerns over sexual health are common.
Your usual GP is very happy to discuss these with you -
or if you prefer you can arrange to see one of our other
doctors or nurse practitioners.

If you think you may have a sexually transmitted
infection, we would recommend that you arrange to be
assessed at a sexual health clinic. Their specialist team of
doctors and nurses can arrange a wider panel of tests and
can support you with treatment and also tracing anyone
else who may also be infected.

Sexual health services are offered locally at several
locations including Rowlands Road as well as Southlands
Hospital. The clinic offers a mixture of pre-bookable
appointments and "walk in and wait" sessions across the
week including some late sessions and weekends. Further
details are available on their website and also further
information from the charity FPA.
Safe Sex & Contraception
You can discuss your contraceptive and safe
sex needs with our specialist family-planning
nurses or if you prefer with your usual GP. We
can discuss a wide range of different options
with you. More information on the options is
available from the charity FPA

We have a supply of free condoms that are
available on request.

The surgery is lucky to have several doctors
trained in fitting both contraceptive implants
(Nexplanon) which last for up to 3 years and
also the Intra-Uterine System (Mirena) which
lasts up to 5 years. If you would like one fitted
- or need one replacing - please contact
reception.
